Hi,

I have ascertained that it doesnt matter which MP3 I play nor if I use Music Library or MyMusic plugin, at the end of playing the MP3 GBPVR just freezes.

I assume that both music players hand off the actual playing of the MP3 to WMP which incidentally plays fine. Has anyone come up against this and found the solution? Any ideas on how I should proceed to resolve the issue.

Thanks

Just after the problem occurs, zip up your log files and attach them to another message.

For what it is worth, I see the same behaviour here. As soon as the MP3 finishes playing, GBPVR freezes. BUT, if I have several tagged to play, it won't freeze until the last one finishes playing. Nor will it have a problem if I hit the stop button manually.

It IS playing from a networked drive, if that makes a difference.

I'll fetch some logs shortly. It isn't that big of a deal to me, but the subject caught my I so figured I would pop my head in.

Logs attached. Forgive all the keypresses.

First track was ended via the stop button.
Second track ended normally (no freeze)
Thrid track ended normally, GBPVR froze.

The log was copied via a networked machine while GBPVR was still non-responsive. I also copied all the other .log files to a seperate directory in case this one isn't sufficient.

Processor use by GBPVR did continue, spiking up to 40% ish, then dropping to zero, and repeating. The more creative might be inclined to compare the processor usage graph to an EKG, but I'm not that creative, so I won't.

It's froze like this since I installed (uhm, two versions ago, around March). Skin of choice in March was Contour HC, while I'm presently poking around with very sexy "Community" skin pack. Havn't tried it will plugins disabled, suppose I should.

Hm. That's about all I can think of presently. Again, not a big deal to me, but if I can provide any other details / try stuff out, I'm happy to do so.

There are some skin errors listed in those logs, so I'm guessing its somehow related to the skin you're using. Try switching back to the default blue skin.

Hi Sub,

I am using the default skin and mine does it. unfortuantely as these things seem to go its refusing to crash at the moment :-)
So I am trying to see what causes the crashes, its seems to be my son that has the most problems so I will try and test it thoroughly and post loggs with anything else I find out during testing.

Cheers

First time poster, long time user (even if I had a bad experience with MP in the middle...Rolleyes )

Anyway I (or more accurately my Mrs) is having this same problem.

I've attached a log file zip, one is cut down to have the just the startup and where I think the error is occuring, the other is the full, untouched log incase you need it.

I think the error may be to do with indexs or counting from 0 or something like that e.g. a small extract has:

07/02/2007 14:45:24.296 VERBOSE [7] About to start playback of F:\music\Various Artists\Housework Songs Disc 2\20 The Closest Thing to Crazy.mp3
07/02/2007 14:49:39.828 VERBOSE [7] Song ended. Checking if there are more songs to play.
07/02/2007 14:49:39.828 VERBOSE [7] Playlist size: 12 current index: 11

This is the last song, the current index is 11, but there are 12 in the playlist
This is only a guess and just something I noticed as unusual

Hope this helps.

I'm running:
GBPVR 0.98.8b on Win XP Prof

But it did play 12 songs or not?
It starts counting at 0, so 0-11 are 12 songs.
