I've been playing with SRT files cos the encoding program I use for XviDs add captions as like pictures - so unlike a DVD they can't be turned off.

So I rememberd GBPVR has an internal SRT viewer and so tried re-encoding an xvid without captions and then put an external srt file on the file system. Now this kind of works and you get the big text down the bottom that is selectable with Ctrl-Y. But there's also a smaller version of the same captions sitting higher up, that I cannot get rid of.

Is this expected?

They bigger one at the bottom, selectable via Ctrl-Y, is generated by GB-PVR. The other is not a feature of GB-PVR. You've most likely got DirectVobSub installed, which is forcing itself into the graph to display SRT subtitles.

I think FFdshow can do the same.
