I think I already know the answer to this (Wink) - but is there anyway to have both IR receivers working in a two tuner system???

I don't think so. You got me curious, so I gotta ask: why? Big Grin

the lounge TV is back-to-back with my bedroom, hence it would be really easy to stick a second monitor cable through the wall and run gbpvr in two rooms off one PC (and silently in the bedroom too) - just need to be able to control it from bed.
I know there's USB IR receivers that I could set up, but I just thought that with two HVR cards I theoretically have all the equipment already.....

Ah, gotcha. I'd look into some sort of ir repeater. I think that'd be easier to set up than to get an usb ir receiver to work from two places and neatly with gbpvr.

I'm' thinking something like this:

Since you're not on the other side of the pond, radio shack isn't for you, but I'm sure there is an equivalent in the Kingdom.

yup, that would do - i just loose the joy of making something work using the pile of left over wires sitting in my cupbord....

we used to have radioshack (well it was called Tandy, but it was all Shack branded gear) dunno what happened to it. 'Maplins' is the current high street bits'n'bobs supplier in the UK. They stock everything but are staffed by idiots (hope I haven;t offended anyone there..... )
