Just trying to stream a picture from a games console to the PC.
I'm using one of the Aldi DVB-T-100 cards, which seems to work okay, but the supplied/stolen-from-KWorld software keeps causing errors in nvdll.dll (or ntdll.dll... not sure now that I think about it), so I'm turning to gbpvr.
All I want to do is get my Composite, or S-Video, signal, but the software keeps asking me to set up channels, which I can't do, because I don't have an aerial, and the piddly little thing that came with the card is no use.

Any recommendations, or word on whether gbpvr actually supports comp/svid?

I'm not really familiar with this device, but I'm guessing it lacks the required hardware MPEG2 encoder on the analog side, so not compatible with GB-PVR for analog video.

Not quite sure what you mean here. If you're saying the card probably uses some kind of saftware decoding for the compisite/s-VHS signal, then I really wouldn't have a clue.
It's definitely a card that can accept composite video, though. I've had it running on my old PC just fine. It's the new PC and the non-working software that's the only real problem for the moment.

EDIT: The supplied software is non-working, I mean. Well, gbpvr isn't working, either, but I'm thinking that's more my fault so far.
Well, off to bed, all wrapping done. Merry Christmas, all.

GB-PVR can use the composite or svideo input on capture devices, but for any analog devices (regardless of tuner/svideo/composite input), it'll only work if the devices has an onboard hardware MPEG2 encoder (like you get on a Hauppauge PVR150, or ATI 550 Pro etc). Often hybrid cards that do DVB-T and analog do not have the required hardware MPEG2 encoder, and instead use their own software that does the encoding in software - which is incompatible with GB-PVR. Its only newer hybrids that have started adding the hardware MPEG2 encoder.
