Hi,

as I will switch to new completely hardware I want to upgrade my version 0.90.10 to the latest available. I learned already, that the dtdbase format has changed. So from what I understood I will have to upgrade to the latest version on my old machine first, than backup the config.xml and the gbpvr.db3 and put these files on my new system after installation. Is that correct? will this preserve all my channels?
In addition I have an older version of MyVideos running. Does here apply the same (upgrade on the old machine to the latest version of MyVideos and than backup the MyDatabase file?

Thanks for any help here.

Cheers,
Peter

To be honest, I dont think it'll be able to upgrade from v0.90. Thats just too long ago. That was two years ago. Dont copy any of the files from this old installation onto a modern build.

I cant even think what you'd have to do to retain your recordings from a version that old. I think it pre-dated the 'export recordings' feature.

Thanks for the reply sub, but that does not sound encouraging... It is pretty much your fault I am still stuck with such an old version - its cause it was running damn stable! Wink

Well the version I have does have the export feature but I archived all the recordings already to access them via MyVideos. Probebly I can hold onto my old recordings by just copying the MyDatabase to the new system? Aside from that will will simply make a new channel listing from scratch (not such a big deal, about 35 channels via cable in germany).

Any hints appreciated.

Cheers,

Just export your recordings. Remove your old gbpvr completely. Install 99.5 and try to import your recordings. Then start with the plugins you want, make sure they are compatible with 99.5.
N.b. don't forget to install .Net2 first.
