Hi All,
I am considering purchasing the higher end Autumn Wave OnAir USB HDTV product. This product is more expensive than the GT becase it has an analog encoder. Does anyone know if this product works with GBPVR?

http://www.autumnwave.us/ProductDetails....tCode=HDTV

Specs below

Regards,
Ben Gannon

he OnAir HDTV receiver and high definition digital video recorder (DVR) incorporates a Philips ATSC / NTSC / QAM (unencrypted) tuner/demodulator that connects to the USB 2.0 port of a desktop or notebook PC. This allows the PC to receive, display, and record over-the-air broadcasts in HDTV or SDTV, as well as cable television (unencrypted QAM digital and analog cable signals). Input can be either from an over-the-air antenna or cable television connection, and the unit comes with software, USB cable, remote control, and external power supply. The DVR features include time-shifting, still capture, scheduled recording, and direct recording to the hard drive. Remote control, software, USB cable and power supply included.

Features

Receives HDTV (ATSC) / Analog TV (NTSC) / QAM (unencrypted) Digital Cable

* Supports HDTV resolutions up to 1920 x 1080 (ATSC)
* Watch Digital (ATSC), Analog (NTSC) TV, or QAM (unencrypted) Digital Cable
* The integrated Phillips tuner/demodulator provides a stable picture
* Hardware MPEG2 type encoding for Analog Video Source results in low CPU usage Resulting analog resolution is 720 x 480. Encoding supports the formats of 640x480, 480x480, 352x480, and MPEG1 type encoding supports the format of 352x240.
* AC3 / AAC audio decoding and output supported
* Supports MCE (Windows Media Center Edition 2005) in analog mode

I've not seen any confirmation that it does work with it, so I'd have to go on the assumption that it doesnt.

These models are coming down in price - $199 is what Buy.com sells them for. Not much more than GT, although that may be a closeout price.

I was thinking about getting one mainly because it supported under Windows 2000 SP4. The GT model doesn't support Win2k.

Thanks for the reply, though. Smile

That's a really good price for the HDTV Creator. Here's a comparison of their three products:

OP - here's a thread on AVSForum dedicated to these tuners: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=695589
Maybe you can find some information re. these tuners and any additional qs you may have - an AutumnWave Tech person monitors that thread and answers most if not all questions posted by people.

Hope it helps,
