I checked in both direct.ini and in the GBPVR configuration screen and for High quality I have 720x480 resolution, for low I have 320x240 resolution, etc

I've checked and after recording all the videos playback at the same 1:1 640x480 resolution (in various programs, WMP, PowerDVD, VLC, etc). On the plus side the bitrates do change for High/Medium/Low as per my settings.

So, I searched the forums and for some specific cards I saw posts stating that GBPVR can not specify the resolution during recording. Is this true for the Hauppauge PVR150? I am still searching and will update this thread myself if I find an answer.

BTW, props to all who put together the WIKI documentation and coded the program. The above is the only nuance I had getting it working, everything else was clearly documented and it all worked fine on the first try. For comparison, I tried out the free demo of a commercial alternative and had nothing but problems with the same setup and no documentation about the issue for me to correct it.

[edit]: Per last post, video resolution appears to be working correctly [/edit]

I cant think of any reason you'd get this. It should be able to change resolutions just fine on the PVR150.

I'm using a PVR-150 and PVR-500, and I just checked a few of my files and they are 720x480 like they should be. I checked them with DScaler, which I find to be an excellent program to check my PVR cards with, as it easily allows me to switch source tuners and files.

It can be found at:
http://www.dscaler.org/

To get the video information, simply hit <ENTER> while it's playing.

I tried to get VLC to show the aspect info, but couldnt find where it would display it.

EDIT: I re-tested again and used DSCALER to view the files. Pressing enter, the video information shown does indeed match the selected resolution, so 720x480, 480x480, and 352x480 work fine. I was not able to get 320x240 working correctly.

I apologize for the confusion, I expected that the other media-players I used would resize the window when I select 1:1 ratio (or original size) for playback. By doing so I should have had a 320x240 window (recognized as half the size of a 720x480 window). Well, perhaps my misunderstanding will help someone else. Thanks for the tips!
