Hi all,

Tried looking around for the answer to this question, but came up with nothing.

Is there any way to NOT show the OSD when changing the volume? I kind of prefer not to see anything, weird as that may seem.

(BTW, sub, 99.5 has been a great upgrade for me! Thanks for the hard work)

Does anyone have any good ideas as to how I can change the volume control without the OSD appearing?

If not, I'll add this to the wish list.

My volume OSD was being half chopped off by the NTSC overscan so I played with the OSD skin to move it below the OSD current show progress bar. I suspect you could do the opposite and move it off the screen where you don't see it.

Could you maybe set the volume control in Config to "Master" instead of "Local"?

A possible work around.......If you are using a MCE2005 remote you can program the volume to direcly change your amplifier volume. (not pc - thus no OSD)
Core2-E2180, 1G RAM, 1Gb-5450 Silent, 2Tb +300g HDDs.
Three tuners: Twinhan DVB-T x 1, Hauppauge Nova 500T (dual)

DTB Digital SD + HD content (PAL-MPEG2-AC3).
Custom case made very quiet. Zalman CPU cooler.
Sits in rack with other HiFi.

ParaLED to show tuner activity.

Display: 42" 1920x1080p Panasonic Plasma

1x wired MVP
1x PC client

Setting it to master didn't make any difference, the OSD still appears.

It's a Hauppague remote btw:

To clarify: I want to be able to call up the OSD when I pres the GO button {F11} and I guess it's no problem when it appears when I pause but when I use the volume I don't really want to see it (like when using FF and RW).

thanks for all the suggestions. I think I'll add this to the wish list.

Can you make the volume OSD transparent?

It's not the volume OSD he's asking about - it's the fact that when you change the volume, all you really need to see is the volume OSD, not all the show info - there's the Go button for that - yes, I agree, a wishlist item.

Actually I'd prefer to not show the other info aswell, but because of a few reasons this was going be technically a pain requiring a bit of a rewrite of the OSD code, so I decided defer it to a later date.

I will be doing it when I get time though.
