Hi, attached is a screen shot and logs of the error i am getting.

The error occurs when I turn off the "live preview mode" check box in the misc tab in config.

When I turn the live preview on, the error goes away, but then live tv does not work at all.

Any Solutions? Thanks (V 0.99.5)

Code:
1/16/2007 8:58:03 PM.453    ERROR    [1]    StartRecordingLiveTV() failed: System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it
This usually means that you
a) Don't have the recording service running (but your logs indicate you do, so...)
b) You have a (usually Windows') firewall running, prohibiting gbpvr to connect to the recording service.

The recording service is running, and I checked windows firewall and gbpvr.exe is allowed. The same thing is still happening. Is there something else, or maybe another file that needs access? Thanks

As a dummy test, so we're not totally off, I'd turn off windows firewall for a second or 30, to see if that's indeed the blocking program.

Why would that message be related to firewall at all? I can not see how windows firewall would prevent a program to run as it doesn't scan application and deny or allow it to run as Zone Alarm can do. This problem isn't trigged by any internet call (GBPVR acting as web server to outside world) or network at all as it is LiveTV that trigger this problem.

gbpvr.exe talks to gbpvrrecordingservice.exe over the network, even though the network "only" is internal in your own computer. And windows firewall can block certain ports to accept incoming calls (in this case the recording service's ports), even though the call comes from the same computer.
