I was excited to find your program as no software came with the used tuner card I bought, however I am having consistant lockups after about 1-2 seconds with LiveTV. I see the video for a moment, and then it freezes. I have reinstalled ATI's drivers for my Theater 550 Pro several times, and reinstalled them along with GB-PVR, and have also uninstalled FFDSHOW, with no luck. I would be interested in donating if I could ever figure this out.

Which log file would you be interested in seeing, if any? I appreciate your help in any way!

Zip and attach the gbpvr.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

What video decoder are you using?

This sounds similar to the problem I'm having (I'm using theater 550 as well). Could you check your CPU usage when your video locks up. Does it drop close to zero?

I've used the "System Default" setting which I don't know really what that is, but it's a software decoder. I've also tried the other settings of:
Cyberlink Video/SP Decoder (ATI)
Nvidia Video Coder
Cyberlink Video/SP Decoder
Nero Video Decoder

And different Audio Decoders such as:
Mpeg Audio Recorder
Cyberlink Audio Decoder
Nero Digital Audio Decoder

I tried a bunch of combinations, but don't know if I tried every possible one. The program randomly hangs on Chris TV also (but goes much much longer at times before it randomly does) I then discovered your program and like everything much better (interface, options, support, etc.) and would love to support you if I can figure it out.

Galiman: CPU usage is at 0-2% when the program freezes.

System is Core 2 Duo E6600 @ 3.4ghz on an EVGA 680i motherboard, 2 gb Ram, 8800GTX, ATI Theater 550 Pro. I tried it without overclocking - no luck, latest drivers from ATI for the 550, latest video card drivers for the GTX, and latest Bios updates for the MB. Tried a couple of different ATI drivers for the 550.

** SEE ATTACHED LOG FILE ** - Thanks!

there's a couple of different ways you can fix your particular problem. the simplest is to use the "VMR9 Custom Renderer" mode, that works for me.

Or, you can get intervideo windvr3 demo, i have the full version and use the intervideo BDA instead of the Microsoft DVR-MS BDA.

Also, you can try turning off "hardware acceleration" under video decoder settings.

i just picked up an msi theater 550 pro off ebay ....

Sounds like some system instability to me, particularly if its affecting ChrisTV aswell. Sorry, I know thats not a very helpful answer...

(just curious) what happens when you install ATI's MMC and watch TV with that?... you said this was used... are you certain it was working fine for the other user?... I try to not stay bleeding edge on drivers... you can download the 'released drivers' from the ATI/AMD website... well used to be able too..
