Hi, I've not had to do anything to gbpvr for months, probably last June. I am running 97.9 quite happily until yesterday. Suddenly I find that whenever I start gbpvr, one of the gbpvr.exe (I start 4 for mvps) will always sit at 99% cpu usage, making doing anything on the machine very difficult.

I haven't upgraded anything, no hardware, no software. The only thing I had done was add another directory for copying DVDs to. On restart I had this problem. What I have found is that if I uncheck the "enable plugins" box the system works fine. The plugins I have are the video , dvd-mpeg, weather and cinema plugins. Even if I disable them individually the cpu usage still hits 99%.

Only when I disable the "enable plugins" checkbox, does it start normally. I don't use the USB-URT (noticed they have a cpu 99% issue in the past). And this system has just suddenly started doing this.

Anyone any help - I really don't want to lose the video, dvd-mpeg plugins.

Thanks

PS I should add none of the logs show anything strange, other than cannot added video_plugin.dll , already added (I don't have the logs here).

I think you'd need to actually *remove* the plugin dll's (one by one) in order to see which one (if any) is the problem. I think gbpvr loads all dll's, even though you have "unchecked" them in config. The config checkbox is only telling gbpvr whether or not to show the plugin in the menu. I think.

You could also check how big your gbpvr.mdb file is. This used to cause CPU problems for some users.

Really, I'd also look at upgrading. V0.97 was probably the worst release.

Ok thanks guys. Video archiver was the cause, reason I don't know, but perhaps I hadn't updated settings until now?

So then I took Sub's advice and upgraded from this bad release Smile , to the latest (both GBPVR and video archiver). And its all working, and it feels faster.

Right see you all in 6 months ..... only kidding Smile
