After installing and configuring my card, and ATI TV Wonder 650, I set up and signed into Zap2IT for the EGP updates. When I hit Update EPG I get an error message that says...

"Your EPG Source does not appear to be configured correctly. Please check the EPG Source Settings and try again. System.IO.InvalidDataException: The Magic number in GZip header is not correct. Make sure you are passing in a GZip Stream."

This is followed by programming jargon.

I am running McAfee.. and I have tried it with the AV and FW turned off and I get the same error.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

try just hitting ok a few times to get out of the config to save your capture cards, then right click on the GBPVR icon in the system tray select update EPG and see what happens.

See the zap2it patch in the sticky 'v0.99.5 survival guide' thread.

I have the same problem, Ive downloaded the patch but I don't know what to do with it...where does it go, or how do I open it. Do i have to delete a file and use this one to replace it?

You'll need to stop the GB-PVR software first, then open the zip and extract the GBPVRBackendCommon.dll to the c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr directory (overwritting the older file of the same name).

I get a similar error on "Update EPG" but the patch doesn't work for me:

Your EPG source does not appear to be configured correctly. Please check the EPG Source Settings and try again. System.Net.WebException: The request was abort: The request was canceled...

...then more stuff about the System.Net.WebClient.

Can anyone help???

Here is a log showing the error. If I leave the dialog open, the log accumulates lines similar to the following continuously:

2007-03-04 02:33:35.194 VERBOSE [1] labelAction.Text = Requesting listing information from Zap2it.com

Quote:2007-03-04 02:33:32.069 ERROR [3] Error UpdateEPG()'ing: System.Net.WebException: The request was aborted: The request was canceled.
Usually this is seen when a firewal gets in the way of communication.
