I'm a new convert to gbpvr from the now unsupported showshifter. Gbpvr is far and away a superior program and I absolutely love it. I am however having a problem with timeshifting and watching the channel that I am recording. I get very jumpy, stuttery playback. I'm using a 2.4 ghz intel pc dedicated as a media pc with a haupaugge pvr-150. I'm also using version 99.5 of gbpvr. I never had any problems with showshifter and timeshifting or watching while recording so i figure I have some settings wrong somewhere. I am using the intervideo decoders. (I have the cyberlink decoders but get a warning if I try them). Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

There is no clear cause in the logs, but two things I'd try would be:

1) Try decoders other than the Intervideo ones.

2) Try using a local directory for the recording directory, rather than a UNC path as it currently is (even if it just points to the local machine).

Thanks, I tried a local directory and it didn't make a difference, but another decoder might. What are my other options? I really only know of the ones I have. Thanks again for all your help

Thanks, I downloaded ffdshow and could not get it to show up as one of the video decoders, but it did show up as an audio decoder. I used it and it did seem to help. Timeshifting is still unwatchable, but I can now watch and record at the same time. I think I will try a few others and see what happens. Thanks again for the help.

A couple of free video decoders often used are: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/MPV_Decoder.htm or http://sourceforge.net/projects/gplmpgdec
