I've been using MythTV for about 2 years now after being a Tivo junkie. Recently, the hard drive in my mythtv box died on me so I decided to see what else was out there. What the heck, I had to reinstall anyway. I'm quite the linux geek, but I own a copy of Windows XP so I was open to all options. I first installed Media Portal, but it had a fit with the way I setup my partitions and was limited in so many areas. I really found it frustrating. I tried Sage and BeyondTV but they were a joke. Then I remembered about gbpvr from a few years ago when I previously tried it, so I gave it a shot.
Man, am I ever glad I did. Even though I get rather frustrated with Windows, I have found gbpvr to be exceptionally easy to setup and configure. I love the way the plugins work and the overall feel of the program. I will be keeping this version of gbpvr on my box until the next one comes out. I hear that there will possibly be the ability to prioritize recordings
. That is just about the only 'complaint' I have and I use that word loosely.
Again, great work, you have done amazing things since I last checked and I'm very grateful for your efforts. It will probably be another month before I will be able to put down the keyboard and stop tweaking the system.
