A little trick that might solve some issues with laggy picture/sound.

Increase priority for GBPVR software.

Alt 1 Try if u need it
Start GBPVR
Open taskmanager with Ctrl+Alt+Del
Choose Processes tab
Right click on GBPVR.exe Set priority/High
Watch liveTV for a while and see if u think performance is better (less laggy)

This will increase the default priority from medium to high on your computer and might give GBPVR slightly better performance.

Alt 2 Ok i need it and want it permanent
Scroll down in this thread and download 4zm4r3d02Confused link to a software modifying your taskmanager
Hope this helps someone

You can try this ofcourse but be aware of problems that might occur.
e.g in your case the gbpvr.exe has a higher priority than the rec.service.exe. I think that could lead to strange behaviour, not necessarily. I guess all I'm saying is don't forget that you made this adjustment.

In my case I guess it must based on age.
posting over 100 times also helps.Big Grin
And it certainly doesn't say very much about my expertise.

There are actually 2 settings in the config.xml file you can use to set the process to high priority (well actually it looks like it them to AboveNormal on my system, XP SP2).

<ForceHighPriorityRecordingService>true</ForceHighPriorityRecordingService>
<ForceHighPriorityClient>true</ForceHighPriorityClient>

I haven't had any problems with this setup and it got rid of the jerkiness I had when I had 2 monitors and watched TV on one and surfed on the other.

Make a bat file that starts GBPVR with high priority

Press Start/run/notepad
Write:
START /high C:\Program\devnz\gbpvr\gbpvr.exe
Change above path to your path for GBPVR
Choose Save As
Choose "All files"
Filename = "GBPVR.bat"

You could make a shortcut pointing at this bat file and it will hopefully always start your GBPVR in high priority mode.

Here is a link to a freeware application called Prio that adds additional functionality to taskmanager:
http://prnwatch.com/prio.html

It allows you to right click on a process and change the priority on-the-fly. It has an option to save the new priority as the default, including the priority of processes that are started as a service. It also adds a 'TCP/IP' tab to taskmanager, that will show you the name of each process that is accessing the network, and what address it is connecting to.

Tx for that tip!

TCP/IP is interesting...ill try to find faults in my netradio with that

seems like gbpvr netradio is trying on port :http

Is http a port i was expercting a number here??? like :2354 or something

Wonder where i can find the settings for this

Maybe this is why i cant listen to netradio??

Tx!

I think netradio uses the default (for webbrowsing) port 80. It should work just as it is. It doesn't for you?? What do you see? Maybe you should post the logs, so someone can take a look.
