I'm confused by the install process at 'create capture source'.

I only want to use one of the tuners of a HDHR with QAM, and set it up to schedule recordings. End result being either a .ts or .dvr-ms file.

None of the .ini files has the HDHR included, but the bda.ini file does have a section labeled [FAKE-ATSC], showing what look like sample QAM channels.

Is what I want to do possible? If yes, some hints to get me started would be appreciated.

The ini files cannot include the HDHomeRun Settings because each device will have a different entry because the driver name includes the device id.

There are instruction on how to add the device to the bda.ini on the Silicondust forums. Or you can use the utility at http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...omeRun+bda

To get QAM you will still need your remap file.

Well, that helped some.

I've got it set up so that I started a manual record, but while is says "recording", nothing is actually happening. Recording status says #1 sleeping. In trying to add another recording, which conflicts, I get a "failed to communicate with the recording service".

Take a look at the attached and see if anything looks wrong.

Those tuning requests dont look correct. Did you do the whole 'map digital channels to epg channels' thing?

Yeah, but I've done so many things in the last week, my head hurts.

The "map" thing only scanned channels 2-69. I put the tuning requests in the above image and it added the "T:" in front of the qam channel. Should the tuning request be a frequency and program number?

The tuning requets is usually a big long series of info, which GB-PVR creates automatically.

Normally you'd hit the 'map digital channels to epg channels' button, it show a screen with each of the channels listed on the left, and then it'd go and scan for channels. After the scan finishes, you then click on the 'tuning request' column next to each channel on the left, and it'd drop down a list of the channel found during the scan. You then select the channel it relates to, creating the mapping. This needs to be done for each channel.

The "map digital channels to epg channels" doesn't act like that here.

I think I'll just drop the whole thing for now. Maybe someday somebody will add a tutorial to the wiki that covers my situation.

I appreciate your efforts.

Then something is set up wrong, probably in your remap file. Zip your GB-PVR logs along with the c:\hdhomerun_bda.remap and c:\hdhomerun_bda.log and post them. Here is what it should look like after the scan:

An the tuning request strings:

Ahhhhh!

I don't have a c:\hdhomerun_bda.remap file.

That is why it isn't working then. As I said:
