I am new at this and could use some help. I have gbpvr up and running on my PC, but I can't seem to play XviD avi files. After reading here and trying some things, I'm not sure how to proceed. I checked some of my avi files with GSpot, and "Codec(s) are Installed" per GSpot. I can play the files with VLC, but I cannot play them with either WMP or gbpvr. With both WMP and gbpvr I can hear the audio, but I have no video.

If the codec is already installed, how do I get gbpvr and WMP to use it? In gbpvr I have only three choices - Cyberlink Video SP Decoder, the Hauppauge decoder, and default. I'm using the default (which is Cyberlink) in gbpvr and it works fine for playback of recordings.

How do I proceed? Do I need to install another codec? If so, can someone advise me on which one is best and how to proceed? Or if I already have a codec installed (as per GSpot), how do I get gbpvr to see it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm very impressed with gbpvr and if I can get this to work, I'll be set. Thanks.
GBPVR 1.4.7; VMR Full Screen Exclusive; Cyberlink Video SP Decoder; XP Home; DirectX 9c; Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-150; Asus P5B-E motherboard with on-board sound; NVidia GeForce 7600GS/256MB; Intel Core2Duo E6400 2.13GHz; 4 GB RAM; This PC is dedicated to GBPVR & connected to an old standard def TV via S-Video cable.

OK, now I get it... I was confusing codecs with decoders. I downloaded an XviD codec from xvidmovies.com, installed it, and my problem is solved. My AVIs play just fine now in gbpvr.
