Hello,

I have GBPVR record 5 reoccurring shows each week and one specific show that is on every weekday every single time it is recorded has an error where when I watch the video it will hit some point where it will just stop playing. I don't have problems with any of my other recordings. I can skip ahead past this point but it loses about a minute of the video. The time where this error occurs changes from day to day. When the video is converted to XVID after the error point the audio becomes very out of sync. I understand that the audio sync on the XVID conversion isn't a problem with GBPVR but it shows how the video created by GBPVR has some problem. The show is also on at another time in the day and at that time it records fine. I have deleted the recording from my reoccurring recordings and re-entered it but the problem persists. I also had this problem with the last release of gb-pvr. I have attached my log files and I cleared out the log files a couple days ago so what hasn't been created in the last couple days wasn't included.

My PVR is WinTV-PVR-USB2

Thanks for your help

If you dont convert the video to XVID, does the .mpg file play fine?

The audio doesn't go out of sync but there is still a bad spot where the video will freeze and following the bad spot about a minute of missing video.

I'm not really sure. All I can suggest is maybe trying different version of the PVR USB2 drivers.

When you do a recording from this type of device, the data goes straight from the device to disk, with GB-PVR not even looking at the data as it records. It effectively tells it to start recording, then comes back later to tell it to stop recording. If there is a problem occuring between those two points, then its got to be the drivers or the device itself, or maybe something else that occurred on your machine at the same time that produced a heavy load (either interferring with the reception of USB data or writing to disk).

Okay thanks for your posts. I will play around with it for a few days and see if I can find anything causing the problem.

The problem was caused by AVG antivirus doing a scheduled scan at the same time as the show. Since rescheduling the scan my show has recorded properly. Thanks again for your help.
