Hi

A newbie needs a bit of guidance please. I have set up GB-PVR version 099.12using a Hauppage Nova T 500 card. I can see programmes and do manual recordings but the TV guide shows channels but no programme information.

I have set it up use XMLTV, update runs but the TV guide shows UK channels as I want them but no show data.

Can anyone give me an idiots guide or have any idea what I have done wrong.

Thanks for your help Smile

If you're not seeing any errors, the first thing I'd check is the date on your PC. You'd be surprised how often people are a month out...

the channel names in the xml file have to match the channel names associated with the nova-t. e.g. "BBC 1" doesn't match "BBC ONE" or "BBC1"

Thanks gEd and sub

I have checked the date and tast is OK. My confusion is a bit more fundamental. I have used the XML file bleb-channels - editted the channel name to match (just used BBC1 to make it simple). All the channels say channel 33 and their is no web address of where to get the listings from.

I am sure I need to do more- but not sure what!

Regards

try this instead

http://www.birtles.org.uk/xmltv/

in postprocessors, i run uk_rt_alt_txt to convert the channel ids to the channel names as generated by the nova card.

you have to create a text file with the mappings. here's mine. I can;t remember why i needed the 999 dummy entry but i'm leaving it in.

999 DUMMY
92 BBC ONE
105 BBC TWO
45 BBC THREE
47 BBC FOUR
132 Channel 4
158 E4
134 five
26 ITV1 London
185 ITV2
1859 ITV3
1961 ITV4
801 UKTV History
160 FilmFour

or (b) you could switch to using the dvb epg. the show descriptions/details are not as good but it would should avoid the problems you are having. if you do want to test it out, make sure you apply the DVB EPG patch from the survival sticky.

gED

Thank you, the XMLTV generator at http://www.birtles.org.uk/xmltv/ did the trick.

Many Thanks

great! - out of interest, did you have to use the postprocessor to make it work?
