No, you'd need a tuning device in between (like a VCR).

So was thinking of making some use out of it.

I don't have one in front of me right now, but I'm guessing the coax connector goes directly into the tuner can. If it didn't and was it's own connector soldered to the PC board you could replace it fairly easily if you're handy with a soldering iron. If it goes into the tuner can, you will have to pry the lid off the tuner and see if there is any way to get the connector replaced. Once again if you are handy with an iron.

If you can't repair the connector, you could run the cable through an old VCR and use s-video or composite out to the 150. The VCR can be "broken" meaning it doesn't record, but the tuner still works. You would then also need an IR-blaster.

Too complicated for me. If I couldn't repair it, I'd probably just toss it.

Also, you may be able to solder a length of coax directly to the card and not worry about getting the connector back on. If you don't have old coax handy, remove the end of a 6" length cable. This might be more sturdy than a connector that could fall off again if it gets stressed.

Yanno what just dawned on me is that awhile ago I had a need for a RF Modulator. I have one of these. Looking at the connectors I should be able to connect the cable coax IN and use the S-Video out to the pvr150. Right ?

While sort of on the subject (if I do this I will need a 3-1 splitter). I have a 2-1 splitter with each leg being 3.5db. Is 3.5db decent ?

No. The cable coax is out. The svideo is in.
It takes sivideo or composite and modulates (changes the frequency) of the signal typically to channel 3 or channel 4.
You won't be able to fix it with that. Maybe tipstir has fixed one already, and can give some pointers. If you haven't soldered anything before or don't have a soldering iron, it's probably a stretch to get it fixed. Mine is buried in my system but if you want to take a picture of the board looking down at the tuner can, I might be able to help you tell how hard it will be to fix.

-3.5 is fine. The best that it can be with equal power to each leg and no amplifier is -3.0 db. You will never find a -3.0db passive splitter though. There is always some loss. 1/2db is basically nothing.

For the three leg splitter you will be in the -5.5 db or so range for equal power.
