On a Vista Business 32 bit system running WMP v.11.0.6000.6324 (!) when I play dvr-ms files created by GB-PVR v0.99.12 on another computer running XP sp2 I get sound but no picture. Any ideas? TIA

One possibility is that your Vista machine doesn't have any MPEG2 Video Decoders installed. Are you able to create dvr-ms files on the Vista machine with anything? If so, do they play sound and video with WMP?

Cheers,
Brian

'One possibility is that your Vista machine doesn't have any MPEG2 Video Decoders installed.' - It's Vista Business without any installed software

'Are you able to create dvr-ms files on the Vista machine with anything?' - No.

'If so, do they play sound and video with WMP?' - N/A

'Cheers,
Brian' - Thanks for the ideas.

I don't think Business comes with the Microsoft decoders. You will need to install some.

He's right, I think Vista ultimate is the only one that has native support for dvr-ms files because it has Win Media Center.

If you have DVD player software that would probably work... or search the forums, there are other free MPEG2 decoders out there.

Home Premium as well. Those are the only two.

The PowerDVD decoder seems to work well on Vista if you want to purchase one. Sub linked some good free ones.

Hmm, this is odd, I can play DVDs in both WMP and WinDVD (Tosh. oem). I guess this means some other component is missing. Any ideas? TIA
