No HD/ATSC Video after Vista Upgrade (analog OK)

Hi,

I had everything running great under XP. A good reason to upgrade, huh!

I have a Hauppauge HVR-1600 and ATI AIW x800. Since moving to Vista, I can no longer see video when tuning into HD channels. Analog stations continue to work fine.

I played with a few playback settings in the config and when I selected overlay, it showed the antenna strength meters. This indicated no signal which is odd as signal was very strong under XP. I can't see HD in the channel map dialog either and no other settings were modified.

Logs are attached; not sure what to try next.

Was it a fresh install on Vista, or some sort of in-place upgrade from XP?

Can you reset your logging level to 'debug', then reproduce the error and repost the logs?

It was an in-place upgrade, with the hope it would be relatively error free. It was for the most part, too. This is the first "real" problem I've encountered without a way to solve.

I'd hate to do a clean install at this point, but let me know if you see anything unusual. New logs attached.

More playing... wanted to point out that I can see HD when using Windows Media Center, so it's not the card/drivers. One caveat to that is that I get no sound using WMC. Not that I want to troubleshoot that, but just to let you know that the card seems to be working.

It really seems like the software can't detect the signal strength any longer. Is is worth removing/readding the BDA capture source?

I'd recommend doing a clean install of GB-PVR, since several important steps relating to vista file permissions wouldnt have been done. I'm not 100% sure this will fix your problem though, but I'm pretty sure you need to do this.

Sounds reasonable. I'll try it... is there anything special to the clean install of GB-PVR, or simply uninstall/reinstall?

uninstall, delete GB-PVR directory, reinstall.
