I was wondering if there was a simple way of using more than one epg data source - basically I am in NZ, so use dvb-s to receive the freeview channels, and would like to try using the dvb epg data to cover those channels (for both my PVR150 and dvb-s capture sources) rather than the xmltv data I use currently.

ie. at the moment I use xmltv to get epg data for all channels, and point both the dvb and analogue capture sources to the resultant epg xml file. Is there any simple way to use dvb-sourced epg data for a couple of those channels instead? (I remember I got confused when I last tried to use the dvb-epg source in addition to my xml one, and thought I'd check the recommended procedure first this time rather than just blundering in Smile )
cheers,

To be honest, its probably not the best to have the same channel on multiple capture sources with different EPG sources. There is too much risk that the data will conflict with each other, probably leading to data problems.

BTW, I know freeview are combining some programs in the EPG - probably to trip up PVR users. As an example, I've seen two half hour comedies combined as one hour long EPG entry with the name "war at home/two and a half men", rather than two separate half hour EPG entries.

I have used the satellite freeview EPG for the freeview channels (TV1,2,3,C4) for the DVB-S card and the normal xmltv (Reven) for Prime on the analog cards. This seemed to work well (and gets each channel information from one source).

I do find, though that the satellite feed does not provide the same detail as the xmltv file (like the episode description is missing or 'general'). Also I often find gaps in the TV Guide. Overall, I'd recommend sticking with the xmltv data for now.
Regards,
Hasso
