I've have two DVD drives in my machine and I've found of late I'm tending toward using both. For example I'll leave a DVD of a TV show in Drive E as I work my way through it and then use F drive for watching a film or something. It would be nice to be able to choose which DVD drive to play from WITHIN the GBPVR GUI rather than having to change it in config.

Currently, I don't use GBPVR to watch DVD's, but I can't find a program that manges two drives nicely so this could be an unexplored niche. . PowerDVD is alright but It could be better and I'm used to using my Remote Control with GBPVR.

Anyway, that's my wish: a DVD Drive Select option within GBPVR.

I'd like to second that suggestion.

It could be in the form of a plug-in, labeled... oh, I don't know, maybe "DVD2".Wink

Seriously, I find myself burning shows to DVD to keep the hard drive(s) from getting too full. It would be nice to leave a tv show disc in one drive, while the family uses the other for movies.

This would also be a big benefit for those that watch back-to-back movies, the struggle to get off the couch would be reduced by 50%.

have you looked in the settings screen? I think that you can select the drive there.

and I am not sure but I thought zoomplayer could do multiple DVD drives...

Since you use an external player there is a work around. Make two custom tasks - DVD A and DVD B each of which point to a different drive. I actually use this to launch different players - I use VLC to skip trailers or Media Player Classic if I want to play the full DVD.

Couldn't you define two different "Video Library Directories" under the Directories tab? I have a local DVD drive and a network shared DVD drive defined.

As flyswatta said, you can do this with the video library and use gbpvr to play the dvds. Define the drive letters of your two dvd drives as "video library directories" under the "directories" tab in the config program, then you can select them from the "video library" heading in the gbpvr interface.

I have my computer set up this way and am quite happy with it. I removed the "DVD" button since it just gets in the way at this point.

If you want to go the super lazy couch potato route, you can get the dvd ripper plugin and store a bunch of dvds on your hard drive, accessible via the "video library" heading. Don't leave your couch for days!
