Pinnacle have finally posted Vista drivers for the Dual Diversity stick on their website. On my dual boot pc of xp and vista I have tried to get GB-pvr running using vista but with no success. The pinnacle tuners show up in the device type list in config but dont show when I select "only show devices detected in this machine". I have also tried using the bda.ini file used in xp which i know works. I tried a while ago with Pinnacles beta vista drivers but they didnt work, so I have uninstalled gbpvr this morning, deleted the directory and reinstalled GBPVR but I still have no success. I am assuming pinnacles drivers are ok for vista as I have managed to get vista media center to show TV programmes. Any help gratefully received, thanks

They've probably changed the names used by their vista drivers. Can you run FilterCheck then attach the resulting FilterCheck.log: http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=1...ostcount=6

Strangely, your filter names look like they should match the following device in bda.ini:

[Pinnacle 2000e Dual DVB-T Tuner3]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
FILTER_TUNER="PCTV DiB BDA Digital Tuner (Dev2 Path0) "
FILTER_CAPTURE="PCTV DiB BDA Digital Tuner (Dev2 Path0) "
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

[Pinnacle 2000e Dual DVB-T Tuner4]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
FILTER_TUNER="PCTV DiB BDA Digital Tuner (Dev2 Path1) "
FILTER_CAPTURE="PCTV DiB BDA Digital Tuner (Dev2 Path1) "
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

If it's not matching, it might be worth removing the space before the quote on the FILTER_TUNER & FILTER_CAPTURE lines.

Sorry, I'd meant to post the following:

[Pinnacle 2000e Dual DVB-T Tuner1]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
FILTER_TUNER="PCTV DiB BDA Digital Tuner (Dev1 Path0) "
FILTER_CAPTURE="PCTV DiB BDA Digital Tuner (Dev1 Path0) "
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

[Pinnacle 2000e Dual DVB-T Tuner2]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
FILTER_TUNER="PCTV DiB BDA Digital Tuner (Dev1 Path1) "
FILTER_CAPTURE="PCTV DiB BDA Digital Tuner (Dev1 Path1) "
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

Did you try those also?

I thought I had tried all the permutations and combinations of bda.ini entries for tuner 1 and 2 with and without the space but obviously not but anyway good news now, after copy and pasting from your post above it now works. One thing I did notice when scanning for the channels was that there was never any value against the signal strength and quality figures, 0 only ever showed even though the channels were received, whereas under XP i obviously got values each time I scanned. Many thanks for your help.

Glad you got it working.

Different drivers report the signal strength differently, or sometimes not at all. This probably comes under the latter category. Thats not to say they dont have a way to report the signal strength/quality, but more likely they use some proprietary mechanism in their own app rather than the BDA mechanism.
