I upgraded to WinXP last night, and there is an upgrade on the MS site for net3.0. Is Net3.0 working with GBPVR? Is there a reason to upgrade to it?

There's no reason to update to 3.0 for GBPVR, but it won't hurt if you do.
3.0 is basically just an add-on to 2.0. It does not change any of the files included in 2.0, it only adds some new libraries which are mostly to do with WPF.

Thanks. Sounds like unless GBPVR starts using it there isn't any point.

I'm intending to stick with .Net 2.0 for the foreseeable future. There is nothing extra in .Net 3.0 which GB-PVR needs. As Carlito says above though, .net 3.0 is actually just .net 2.0 + some extra libraries bundled in.

upgrading won't break anything though.

Good to hear no dependencies on net3.0 in the future.
I just moved off of win2k, so this is less of an issue to me than others, but net3.0 isn't supported on 2k so that could have been a problem.

Unless you install Uburadio.... which (unless it's been fixed) looks for the latest version of .Net 2, but needs a special install for .Net 3.0.

Quote:
  • If you have .Net 3.0 installed, you will have to install UbuRecordingService manually. eg: C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.5727\InstallUtil.exe “<your gbpvr directory>\Plugins\UbuStream\UbuRecordingService\UbuRecordingService.exe”

Cheers,
k.
