failed to find crossbar filter

I've noticed that new shows aren't recording (just getting fuzz), so I tried the tuner assistant and got the error message "failed to find crossbar tuner". So I figure the drivers got hosed and I rolled my system back to a ghost image from a couple of weeks ago when it was working, but I'm still getting the same error. Does this mean my card is crapping out?

I'd try a re-install, but I'd be interested in thoughts on whether it could be something else besides my hardware going bad that rolling back to a previous ghost image can't solve. :confused:

I've had a ProVideo PV 258/259 going on maybe two years now, so it could be its time is up.

Have you tried reinstalling the drivers for the capture card? It sounds like the they are either missing or corrupt.

Any driver issues should have been resolved when I rolled back to the previous ghost image of my C drive. I rolled back to an image from two weeks ago, when everything was working hunky dory.

It'd be nice if I could get some corroboration that this is a hardware issue. But I don't need much of an excuse to go get a new dual-tuner card anyways

I recently hexperienced exactly the same problem.

My MCE500 PVR card and a sweetspot RGB card sarted behaving this way. I tried removing the capture sources from GBPVR and re-adding them. That didn't help. So now I am in the middle of reinstalling GBPVR.

If that doesn't work I'm going to reinstall the drivers.

I can't imaging what happened to my setup to cause this but it is not the first time it has happened.

The only things I have changed in GBPVR is I have added Xrecord, weather plugin and community skin. Can't imagine this is the cause though.

Don't throw your cards away. I'm fairly sure it is a software problem.

Can you test your card with other software apps?

Turns out my card wasn't properly seated. D'oh! I think somebody was tugging on the coax splitter near the TV.
