Sub,

I did an upgrade installing the new version. I am running XP and have two video cards. The new interface is showing half on both monitors (Monitor 1 is my integrated NVIDIA GeForce4 MX with my 40" LCD, Monitor 2 is an ATI Radeon 9250). If I run GBPVR, it is fine and on the 40" by itself, PVRX2 splits between the two monitors.

The option for run on second monitor is gone in the new configuration. I tried my trick of opening in windowed mode, dragging GBPVR over to the other monitor and then turning off windowed mode and it didn't work. It also has lines on the screen (black).

Any ideas?

Sub,

I installed an ATI AIW 9000 and the bars went away. The problem is PVRX2 is still split between the two graphics cards (attached screenshot--ignore the black bars, they are gone now). Could the issue be that I have two separate video cards (one is now the AGP ATI All in wonder and the other is the PCI ATI 9250)? I cannot use the 9250 as the primary because the PCI bus is too slow (jerky video). The AIW 9000 is also now giving my jerky video but to a much less extent.

I was thinking of getting a dual monitor card, would you recommend that? Do you think that will fix the problem?

Here's the screen shot. The black on the bottom left is because the PC monitor has a much lower resolution than the LCD TV.

Sorry - that totally loses me. I'm not sure how that happens.

Sub,

Try this one. I bought a new video card (ATI X1300 Pro with dual monitor support). I created a shortcut to PVRX2 and put it on one of the monitors. When I click on that shortcut, then PVRX2 opens on the main monitor.

If I move the shortcut to my HDTV, then it opens on that screen. The problem is that when it opens, the size of PVRX2 is very small. I have the LCD at its native 1900x1080 resolution. PVRX2 seems to only open in a 4x3 shaped window (with no blue bar). When I play back an HDTV file (in 16x9), it is played back in 4x3 in that small format window.

Is there a setting somewhere to make PVRX2 go full screen?

I think this is all related to the limitation discussed here: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=27632

Sub,

It appears that PVRX2 seems to start in the resolution of the primary VGA connector on the card or the primary video card in the PC.

I switched the two monitors (LCD TV and VGA monitor) and now I get PVRX2 to be full screen. I think this is why I was getting the picture over two separate video cards earlier. I get the same response on the new dual monitor card.

The problem I see now is that when I play back an HDTV program on PVRX2, the video is choppy and the CPU usage is at 100%. On GBPVR on the same file, it looks great and CPU Is only at 21%.

This sounds like its not using the acceleration of your video card. This is still on the primary monitor right? What video decoder are you using?

I'm using InterVideo Video Decoder. I can have windows switch which is the primary. The video only plays on the primary monitor. The resolution problem has to do with which connector I am on.
