I am trying to setup a computer to run as a gbpvr client for the first time. Both the server and client pc's are running 1.0.8. The client is a fresh install of Vista, so there isn't any other software installed. Currently I'm setup as a wired network, so that shouldn't be an issue.

I am able to playback recordings just fine when in fileshare mode, but recordings and livetv are choppy in streaming mode. The logs don't show any errors. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I spent a good part of yesterday searching the forums and trying everything I could think of to get this working smoothly.

Thanks.

firewall must be turned off on both machines
if anyone knows what ports it uses or settings to add to the firewall then please post them

streaming works best for live tv

I have the firewall off on both computers and i have the router set to allow all local traffic on all ports, so i don't think that's it.

dont know then that fixed it for me
the only other thing i did
was on the server machine make sure the folder share was exactly the same under ther server/client tab to do this had to tick box
then save then reopen and set back to server(untick box)
oh and made sure the buffer file was on seperate hard drive and all directories pointing there
i had the same problems as you
