Clearing EPG data

In the transistion from Zap2It to whurlston's utility I can't seem to get rid of three channels

In the config app there are no devices showing, but when I import a new list, 29 gets reloaded on a new number. Is there are way to clear these existing entries out to start fresh?

To entirely start from scratch you can copy empty.db3 over gbpvr.db3.

These three channels that are still present may be referenced by some recordings. For example, if you have a recording that is from a channel that later gets removed, its channel data is left in the database so that when you view the recording details you can see the channel name and icon etc.

Thanks that worked perfectly and without a doubt I had recordings from those channels. For people with big collections this is going to be a bit of a nuisance next month.

Yeah, I agree its going to be a bit of a hassle, but something people will need to work through.

The next version includes the ability to export season recordings aswell, so the easy option for most people changing guides will most likely be to export their recordings, backup their original gbpvr.db3, copy in the empty.db3, then setup their capture sources again, then import their recordings.

My ZSchedFix, which was really just to export season schedule, zero out a couple of tables, and then import the schedule did just that.

I'm glad sub put that into GB-PVR.

I will rewrite that export, clear, reimport app, and bundle it with the GUI I'm writing...

And all the more reason for Zap2it users to upgrade to 1.0.8

Yep. I suspect the zap2it thing is going to force quite a few stragglers to upgrade.

I can export
I can purge (deleting all from Channels, Recording_schedule, and Programme)
I can import
I can update epg

All works well except that when I import the recordings, and there aren't any channels yet, the import creates channels . It makes sense. The season recordings need a channel...

Now when I update the epg and it finds all the channels and the programing data, the channels are not in order...

This is the same order as displays in the TV Guide.

Now if I export, purge, update EPG the channels fall in very nicely and in order... If I import, nothing happens.

It's almost like the Import feature doesn't like Channels already in the list...

I'd usually recommend swapping the order of the last two, since this gives the channels a chance to be created with their real channel numbers (giving the order you'd expect). The import will then try to use any existing channel with a matching name, or will create some channels if required, using unused numbers at the end.

That's my point. When I do swap the order, the list is great, but then the import won't work.
