I switch between the default Blue and Community Skin 3. Although I'm leaning towards Blue for my HTPC machine as the number of images used in the Community Skin seem to knock my (already rather strained hardware), over the edge.

Have looked at community for PVRx2 and while I really like in in gbpvr, I'm not sure about it for pvrx2.

The dark blue with the blue skin looks good. The only thing I don't like about the new blue is the size of the fonts. They're a bit small compared to Community (looking like mce) on gbpvr.

The results from this poll I will find interesting and possibly useful, with some other polls this is not always the case...

Like to expand on this?

Yes, agree with you there. On my 21" TV its a bit of a struggle to read text like the TV guide description - havn't got round to seeing if a bit of baseskin tweaking will improve things.

I think the focused words are a little to big compared to the unfocused.

To me the regular CommunitySkin looks clean and simple (the gbpvr one) where as the pvrx2 one looks kind of cartoonish - Im not sure how to explain it.

I'm a bit like reven I thnk, and like the darker style screens - my bedroom tv uses a dark version of the old blueMCE skin (with the fonts sized increased for a 14" tv).

I use Blue... used to use ContourHC as it was very easy to see on my 27" tv.

I too wish that the fonts were a little bigger. Haven't looked into making them bigger, is that possible?

This is possible with your own CSkin3 theme, and quite easy to do Smile

To be totally honest, I haven't had time to use GB-PVR in about two months. Not much on in the summer anyway. All that will change in the upcoming fall season here in the U.S.

Of course I use CommunitySkin, and will be using the latest version if I can get off my a## and finish more themes. I use custom background images that are found on Deviant Art and other sites (I respect copywrite author's wishes and do not distribute those images).

Personally, I like the "less is more" design style. I use no images for unselected items and often play around with different "selected" and "SelectedInactive" images. I also don't use list backgrounds either. I wish I had a small fraction of Dottore's talents, as I often use his button images and such.

McBainUK, do you think the fact that even if images are small and transparent, they bog your system down? I can remedy that somewhat with a special baseskin.xml that doesn't even try to give images for normal state items.

Depending on what is in a list, those images can add up quickly.

(If you are using the new background from one of the previews of Community3, be advised it is a Playstation 3 1920x1280 image and the file size is significantly larger than most others).
