Hello,

I am new to GBV and it works great! But I can not play a normal DVD.
In config I swithed on the 'Show DVD button', but I don't see the button in the menu.

Am I doing something wrong or do I need to install some additional software. If yes, which software?

Thanks,

Gert

Yes, it is selected under plugins. Do I need to install some extra codecs or so?

Are you using an MVP, if so you won't see the DVD button.

Sorry, am new here, what's a MVP? :-)

I also just checked the directory /gbpvr/plugins. This directory is empty! Shouldn't there be files here?

No, I do not use pvrx2.exe, when I use that I get a error message and nothing starts up. I use the old gbpvr.exe file.

Is this the cause? I installed K-lite codes....is this sufficient?

Are you playing back using a Hauppauge PVR 350 card? If so you won't get the DVD button showing.

Correct. The tv out on the PVR350 is very limited, and cannot play DVDs or AVI files.
