I used the Yapi2xml to replace my Zap2it when I recently upgraded my GBPVR. The new GBPVR is awesome and I'm in love. I am not too hot on paying SchedulesDirect $60 per year for the EPG. I had the Yahoo utility working fine but a few of the channels in the Channels tab in the Config utility were out of order/messed up/duplicated. I removed all of my tuners and cleared the EPG and now I can't get rid of a few of the channels. They seem stuck and I dont know where or how I can remove them. Also, through my attempts, now Yapi2xml doesn't work at all(it keeps giving me an error for Missing/Corrupt schedules file) The schedules file appears to have a size of 0kb. Any info on using this utility and/or cleaning up the Channels tab so that the channels show properly in my EPG should I ever get Yapi to work? I've also used the Zap2xml utility and this one seems to work fine(although they don't list NEARLY as much info in the descriptions), but the channels are still there and I can't seem to get everything in order.

Please help!

Clearing the epg isn't required, you must remove all channels from the source.

Follow the directions under Duplicate channels *slowly* and *carefully*

Is it necessary to remove the channels one by one on the capture source? I tried to delete all of my capture sources and then using the button marked Clear unreferenced channels or whatever it says. On top of that. Is is yahoos problem that the schedule file is corrupt/missing or is it possible that I configured something incorrectly?

Yes you must remove channels 1 by 1 using the "remove" button.
Don't skip the part of clicking ok and closing the capture source before you update.

This is noted in the directions you were suppose to follow carefully. Smile

It's possible that yahoo doesn't have your listings yet. For that you can only try later. Mine were generated in about 30 min.
Removing the yammi folder and starting over might be a good way to pass the time while yahoo does their thing. Smile

I'll try removing them one by one and then hitting the update button to remove the channels. I dont have to sign up for the yahoo thing or did I skip a step. It was working yesterday, but today it doesn't seem to work. I've tried it on and off for a few hours. I'll wait some time and try it again.

I've tried the method to remove the duplicate channels and it doesn't seem to be working. I removed all the channels one by one, and pressed ok. Then I went back in and updated the EPG and then went and clicked the Remove channels button on the channels tab but they all still remain. I'm not so much worried about salvaging the recurring recordings and what not. I even tried deleting my capture sources and clicking ok and then removing unreferenced channels. I tried uninstalling GBPVR and reinstalling it and the channels are still there. I'm kind of confused. What data file does the channels exist in. I could manually delete them there???

I'm not sure. Hopefully someone could help

Have you changed your epg source to "XMLTV plugin"?

And under the settings for XMLTV plugin have it pointing to your yapi2xml.xml file?

Yeah, I've done that. Currently I dont have a yapi2xml file but i do have a zap2xml file. I deleted the yap2xml when I was trying to get the yahoo to work properly. The leftover channels was one of my concerns. But it still won't erase the extra channels using either of the XML files. It just adds them to the bottom of the list. The other unusual part is that theres not a whole line up of extra channels. Theres only 6 or so. Let me know if logs and or screen shots would be helpful

It wont remove channels from the database if they're referenced by recordings.

Thank you sub. That makes everything make perfect sense. I'll try taking off the manual recordings and such recurring so forth and give it a shot!

thank you
