Hello all,

I'm upgrading to v 1.0.16 and have also installed the MS runtime update as well as the GBPVRBackendCommon.zip patch. Within the GB-PVR Configuration environment - specifically in Capture Sources tab - I add a source which includes info (ID/PW) for Schedule Direct. When I try to update it looks like it's retrieving the EPG but I then get the following message:

Your EPG source does not appear configured correctly. Please check the EPG Source Settings and try again. System.Data.OleDbException: You cannot add or change a record because a related record is required in table 'CAPTURE_SOURCE'.

I've cleared out the tables within the gbpvr.mdb file but I must have either gone too far (deleted records from most every table) or not far enough (delete the tables?).

Any help is appreciated...

Zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

I found in another thread that you cannot drop your original database (mdb file) into the gbpvr directory due to structure differences etc. So I restored the installed version of the gbpvr directory (empty database file and other stuff) and started the config process. This time it looks like some background processing took place and when I tried the EPG update is ran successfully.

I was happy for about 10 seconds - then I tried to start the gbpvr menu system and all I got was a large black square...no menus, nothing. Starting the PVRX2 was worse in that all I got was essentially an empty frame. I recognize that there are graphics card issues with the PVRX2 but I was surprised by the failure of the gbpvr menu.

I will repost this issue as a new thread (and with zipped log).

What graphics card are you using? Most modern cards are fine with it.

I'm not using a very powerful PC - it's a older Dell (GX240). I looked at the system trying to find the graphics card. Sorry to say I'm not sure if the following one is correct...Rage 128 PRO Ultra GL AGP

I don't think the Rage 128 Pro is DirectX 9 compatible - it was released when DirectX 6 or 7 was the latest version.

Your best bet is to spend US$50 (maybe not even that much) and pick up a Radeon 9000-series AGP card. I was testing PVRX2 on my everyday workstation (Radeon 9600 Pro 256MB memory) and it worked fine.

Yeah, I'm also guessing that card isnt up to the task. Sorry.

It wont help you long term, but for now you'd probably be fine if you set the video renderer to Overlay or VMR7 (and maybe regular VMR9) in the config app and just continue to use the old GBPVR.exe interface. That'll should at least keep you going while you think about what to do.

Thanks for the recommendations folks - switching to VMR9 did the trick as I can at least see the menu now. Looks like an updated (although low end) graphics card is in my future.

Thanks again...

I upgraded, I tried a clean install... nothing. Getting same error. Right now I'm trying to update the PVR150 drivers so I'll try that.. if that doesn't work I'll zip my log files..Thanks in advance Sub!!
