I bought a PVR-150MCE so that I could use my wii and PS2 on my computer and I was expecting to struggle a little bit getting it to work properly without delays and such, but nothing like this.

I looked around to see how this could be done and saw a thread where an explanation was given on how to get around the hardware codec delay using GB-PVR. After a whole lot of trying and reading, and getting Windows Media Center working, I found drivers that would let me use the TV tuner via cable TV, but I'm still stuck on the whole composite/s-video bit.

WMC has no option for connecting anything via composite and the other software I tried, the WinTV2000 that came with the driver download, only works when it feels like it, although I did get the composite to work with the 1 second or so delay. Not good enough to play any games at all, but atleast it's functioning to some extent.

When I set up GB-PVR, with any option possible tried on playback decoders and capture sources, I'm pretty much stuck. I can tune in channels and composite also and get sound, but no picture. I have the nVidia video decoders and InterVideo NonCSS video decoder, but they both give the same result.

I already have an M-Audio soundcard that's rendered useless because of slow driver updates, so it would really suck to have to discard this as another "slightly functional piece of hardware."

Logs attached. I would be incredibly thankful for any kind of help or even a mention about this being fixable or not (via said help or future updates and fixes.) I'm tired of searching forums, googling and reading with no results. : /

I'd try setting the deinterlacing setting on the misc tab of the config app back to the default 'encoder passthrough' setting.

I wasn't sure if I should add to this thread or start a new one, but HerrStoy's issue is right in line with mine. Pretty much everything he wrote is my issue as well, except I'm not even getting audio.

I am using an Hauppauge PVR-150 on Vista x64 and trying to view my Sony PS2 through the composite on the card. I followed a guide at http://forums.techguy.org/hardware/59052...g-pvr.html and on Vista x64 all I'm getting is a black screen with no audio. I know this guide does work though because I had just used it a week earlier on Vista x86 and it worked flawlessly. As HerrStory mentioned, with the WinTV app from Hauppauge I could on Vista x64 view and hear the PS2, but there was an annoying 1 sec lag. On x86 there was no lag with GBPVR.

I've attached my logs and I hope someone can make something work, I know most would say to downgrade back to x86 Vista, but this is my only issue with the OS & everything else for past 5months works great for me on x64.

I tried setting the deinterlacing setting on the misc tab of the config app back to the default 'encoder passthrough' and that didn't help, I also tried different renderers but nada. The problem with at least the lag is needing something that will use Live Preview and bypass the encoder.

Post the logs with it set back to the default 'encoder passthrough' setting and I'll take a look.

I must be loosing my mind, because right before my post I had tried again on encoder passthrough and got nothing. But now, for whatever reason, I do have video and sound, but am back to the problem with the 1 sec lag.

Here are my logs & I apologize for any confusion.

With encoder pass through its normal to have about half a second or so of lag.

I've never recommended people use GB-PVR to try to watch game systems. You'd be much better off connecting these directly to the TV, even if it means using an AV switch.

Ya, I understand. It's just it is already hooked to my 48" projector that my wife & son play on, but, I can't see well, Ive had many seizures, different eye surgeries and complications with Type 1 Diabetes. So, my only shot at trying to enjoy these game system are to hook them to my lcd monitor.

Don't mean to give a sob story and I understand the lag must be familiar issue since it happens with other PVR software I've tried. I just wish it could work on x64 Vista as well as it did with x86 XP & Vista, with which there was no lag with them when Live Preview is enabled. Just wish someone would fix it for me on x64.

I appreciate your time though. So, thanks.

The reason you cant use the 'none' deinterlacing option (which has less lag) is because Hauppauge dont supply a 64bit version of their 'Hauppauge WinTV Color Format Converter 2' filter.

I've actually been in correspondence with Hauppauge tech support about this very issue this past week. One email I got said that engineers said it can't be done in Vista due to it not having a registry... lol. Anyways, I sent them a link with instructions showing it worked on x86 Vista, at there request.

After that email, I got one more from them saying that it might be a WinTV software problem but no eta on when any kind of fix will or will not happen for x64 Vista.

Is a "Hauppauge WinTV Color Format Converter 2' filter", something I can call them back and beg to make? Or anyother cards you know of that this will work correctly with on x64 Vista?
