Hello all,

Just fixed an issue with loading EPG data from Schedule Direct and tried to start the gbpvr system. The initial "splash" screen came up, it indicated that it was loading plugins and starting but I was left with a dark empty square where the system menu should have been.

I've attached the zipped log files - also, I don't believe that it's trying to load any skin other that the default blue one so I think it's something else.

Thanks...

Also just upgraded from 0.97 which worked a treat for over a year. Downloaded and installed 16 to fix the Zap2it problem. Blank screen, no menus etc.

This particular PC has an old ATI card in it.

Any help would be appreciated.

guys, what precise video cards are you using? I think pvrx2 (if that is what you are using) requires directX9 support. Make sure you have windows media player 9 and directx9c installed. If your graphics cards are too old to handle pvrx2 you will have to stick to gbpvr.exe.

Thanks for the response. I am using an ATI Rage Pro 128. (Yep, vintage, but it works to drive the monitor I use.) I have 2 MVPs to feed the TVs over a wired network. No cable boxes, no satellite boxes, just basic cable into my Hauppauge 250. The computer is a 866MHz P3 that was doing sterling service until Zap2it canceled their programming.

I found I did not have either Windows Media installed or DiectX so i just installed them and removed and reinstalled gbpvr v 16. Still get the same problem, blank screen when it should have the blue skin. I have not tried to use PVRX2.

you could try playing around with the renderer (setting it to overlay) but I don;t think that this should affect whether the menus display or not. I think you should zip and attach your logs

I am using the Hauphaug PVR 150. WIndows XP SP-2

Been running version .93 great

Upgraded today to v 1.016 Several issues not sure if they are related.

When I start GBPVR it brings up the GBPVR window but inside is completely black. Moving the cursor around shows no selectable areas. Clicking in different areas where the selectable items should be causes no action.

If I change to bring up PVRX2 it brings up the PVRX2 window and the center is a snapshot of the backgound desktop behind the PVRX window. When you drag it around it maintains the same background image, but the background (desktop) is undamaged.

THe MVP server works fine and brings up the new "blue" menus, but will not play the recordings. When Video is selected the TV screen goes black and there is no recovery.

I saved my old gbpvr.mdb file When I replaced the new file with the old one, the recordings still were not visible and a "gbpvr experienced and error report error to microsoft" box appeard

Have reloaded, unintalled, reinstalled several times and still get the same things. Have installed all the "specials" required for V.1.016

Here are the logs

I'm fairly sure your Rage128 video card isnt up to the Direct3D requirements of VMR9 Custom, so you'd either need a new video card, or use the old GBPVR.exe interface with the Overlay renderer.
