Ok, I am back with another question.

I am using PVRX2 now and my remote buttons are not working like they did in GBPVR. I have a Remote Wonder Plus and I was using a special plugin to get it to work. Does anyone know if there is a plugin or anyway to make all of the buttons work for PVRX2.

As it stands right now, the only buttons that seem to do anything are the numbers ot change the channel and the arrows and ok.- No pause, recorde, guide, show info, etc...

Thanks!!

From what I have read, not much changed in the way of key mappings. But, for some reason, my buttons don't work anymore. It is probably related to the Remote Wonder plugin that I use, being programed to work for GBPVR.exe. Can anyone think of a solution to make my remote work again?

Sorry for the third post by me, I just wanted to clarify what I am saying.

I am using a ATI Remote Wonder plugin that was custom made for GBPVR. It isn't a plugin in GBPVR. I wanted to clarify, so people didn't think I was using a plugin that GBPVR loaded.

Also, I thought I would pose the question differently. Is there anyone out there that is using a Remote Wonder (Plus) with PVRX2? If so, how did you get the extra buttons to work. Like I said above, I can only use the up and down arrows (change channels), the ok button, the number keys and the volume button. Everything else doesn't work, so once I am in "Live TV" I can't back out of it. I am sure I need a plugin that is specifically for PVRX2, but maybe there is a way to make GBPVR plugins settings apply to it. Maybe someone has already created a plugin, I just haven't found it yet.

For now, I am going to continue to use GBPVR, as my remote still works with that. But, I am hopeful that someone has an idea, as I really like PVRX2. Along with looking nicer, it seems to run better and the channels even change faster, than GBPVR.

So, again, thanks all!! I will quit bumping my posts so frequently now.:o

I asked the same question ( minus the self-bumping Wink ) a few days ago and I got no response. I can't remember the guy who wrote the last remote wonder plugin ( and the forum search was broken.. haven't checked recently ) so I couldn't find him that way.

I think that the plugin was actually keyed to the executable or possibly application ( or maybe window name ), so it would send events to gbpvr.exe. So the old plugin sends events to nowhere now. The gbpvr.exe that comes in version 1.0.16 still works with the remote wonder plugin that I use.

You could try renaming the pvrx2.exe to gbpvr.exe and see if that makes a difference. I just thought of that, or I would have already tried it.

The remote wonder is an X10 remote, you could work out a solution using eventghost.

The search feature is working again, so the guy who wrote the last plugin was Mongoose. I sent him a PM. Also, I found
http://sourceforge.net/projects/rwkeymaster, which looks it also could be made to work.

Thanks Squid. That is a good idea, renaming the PVRX2.exe to GBPVR. Though, that wouldn't cause any other problems, would it?... I guess I could always change it back.

If not, that program looks like it would do the trick.

Thanks again!!

I posted this in another thread, and was suprised more people weren't doing this. May not work with X10, but it's fairly straightforward:

Just like to say GBPVR rocks as far as it's streamline setup and stability. I tried MediaPortal, thought it would be fun, but found the GBPVR is the app which has everything I need.

For the ATI Remote Wonders, mines a RW+ the easiest way to go about setting it up is installing the RW software from ATI, I've got version 3.04 which seems to be pretty dependable. Then go download this nearly impossible to find plugin:

http://www.bumderland.com/KeyMapper.html

This plugin will even give you access to those keys they don't want you to have access to, like the red button. It's got all the buttons plus some, and best of all as far as I can tell it's free. Once you figure out how to use it it takes about 30 minutes to setup your remote like it should be. Not sure if this works with the X10 remotes, but I will probably get one soon. Hope this saves some time for others trying to setup their Remote Wonders.

I used the GBPVR plugin for the remote wonder found here:

http://remotew.free.fr/plugins.htm#gbpvr

and the instructions at:

http://remotew.free.fr/howto.html

Works for me.
