Trouble With Audio Playback

First off, let me apologize if this is a dumb question. I've tried my best to read through the forums and solve the problem myself...to no avail.

I am running 1.0.16. I have been able to setup almost everything without too much trouble. I can watch LiveTV (with audio) and record TV. However, when I go to playback the recorded show there is no audio. There is also no audio during DVD playback.

If I play DVDs or the recorded shows (MPGs) outside of GB-PVR, I am able to hear everything just fine.

My configuration is (for both playback and DVD playback)...
Audio Decoder = CyberLink Audio Decoder
Audio Renderer = CyberLink Audio Renderer (PDVD6)

I have tried just about every combination of Audio Decoder and Audio Renderer and nothing has worked.

Any thoughts?

If you hold down the right arrow during playback of a recording does the audio return?

No. I wish it were that easy :-)

FYI : I have gone through all of the volume controls in GB-PVR as well as in the Windows volume control while this is happening...everything is where it should be.

One other bit of info...maybe I am going crazy at this point, but I can hear the speaker crackle just the slightest bit when I first try to playback the recording...as if something tried to start up but failed

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

I closed out of everything...cleared the logs...then started it backup (verified the config first) and tried to playback a recording. Agai, no sound. Here are all of the logs of those events.

I cant see anything obvious in the logs. I know some people have had problems trying to use the Cyberlink audio renderer in the past, and have had to switch back to the 'system default' audio renderer.

What other audio decoder options do you have listed?

Audio Decoders - System Default, Cyberlink Audio Decoder, MPEG Audio Decoder
Audio Renderers - System Default, C-Media Wave Device, Cyberlink Audio Renderer (PDVD6), Default Direct Sound Device, Default WaveOut Device, DirectSound: C-Media Wave Device

I decided to install Nero 7. I then changed the Playback Audio Decoder and Audio Renderer to Nero Video Decoder and Nero Digital Audio Decoder respectively. IT WORKED! I can now watch and listen to my tv recordings.

When I goto the DVD Playback options the Nero Video Decoder is not an option (I would think this menu would be the same as the Software MPEG-2 Playback Menu). However, Nero Digital Audio Decoder is a listed as one of the Audio Decoders. I chose this as my decoder but I am still unable to get audio during DVD playback.

Are the two playback menu items supposed to be different?
Does any of this shed some light on what is happening with my system?
