A few updates.

http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Plugi...2-BETA.zip

But I've gone back to an upzip type install..

Stop the service (MLUpdater if running).
Unzip and copy to gbpvr directory (makes the plugins and skin directories needed).

I've also removed the MusicLibrary3 for a bit.
One other thing to do is to go into the config.xml and rename Settings/Plugins/MusicLibrary2 to MusicLibrary

This will allow both ml2 and later ml3 to use the same settings.

Some of the updates this time:
  • fixed a bug with overwriting the config.xml (sorry :o )
  • inplemented a new interfaces class which will look for certain dlls - these different dlls allow different types of tag reading. See below.
  • removed the ml2panel for a while - it will return - or you could use an older one if you have it there.

You'll notice a couple of new dlls - entagged-sharp.dll and interfaces.

Entagged-sharp is a multiple format reader, capable of (I haven't tested all of these: asf, flac, mp3, mp4, off)

I've also re-introduced the ultraid3 lib (http://home.fuse.net/honnert/hundred/?UltraID3Lib) this is an mp3 only library that is capable of reading album art from an id3v2.3 tag.

You can add this library yourself. If you do, add it to the MusicLibrary2 and Common dierctories (when sub comes back I;ve got a change where I wont need the common directory).

The other extra dll is called Interfaces.dll - this selectively chooses between the ultraid3 or entagged. - if neither are found then the default of Windows Media Player is used.

So the order of tag reading is as follows:
UltraID3 (MP3 only)
Entagged
WMP

Stepping to the other libraries is dependant on library being there, or errors while reading the tag.

I see a msi-installer in the zip-file:confused:

Edit: I found out it's the same as the previous beta.:p

So ML3 is not included in this update? Sad Maybe I'll wait until the next release...
Reading the album art from the ide tag is pretty cool. I think that almost all of my mp3s are tagged with album art. This should work well for me. When do you think that this will all be implemented in ML3?

No, it was only really a demo - and besides the one you already have (if using it) will still work - this new structure of sub's allows for this anyway.

Now that it's sorted in ML2 i can start adding it to 3 (and that's why I made the config.xml tags go to musiclibrary.

Before rolling it properly I'd prefer that i get subs change in where I don't need to use the "Common" dll directory.

But coming....

Installed beta2 tonight - works fine...
I have two m3u playlists - works fine with beta2... until I install the UltraID3Lib.dll

So, with UltraID3Lib.dll installed, from MusicLibrary2 I ctrl+g to go to playlists. My two m3u files appear in the left pane, but no songs in the right pane. Then 'PVRX2 has encountered a problem...'

I've attached the logs

Ok, I'll have a look.....hmm, maybe I should give you guys the debug versions more often....it's handy having the line number that it failed on....

So you had this problem in loading the playlist?? do you have debug logging on?? or could you turn on "Insane" logging and try re-loading - I want to see if its a specific song causing a problem, or something in one of your tags....

I open PVRX2, navigate to Music Library 2, ctrl+g to go to playlists -normally it shows the m3us in the left pane and after a few seconds it shows in the right pane the individual tracks in the first m3u - with UltraID3Lib.dll installed PVRX2 shows the m3us and then dies with 'PVRX2 has encountered...' (I didn't tell microsoft by the wayWink )

Here are the logs - I can under the 'insane' bit Wink

I've had a look and can see it being tripped up on the composer tag.

I can add a band-aid for this one (composer), but I imagine there might be others that I should code error traps for.

I'll certainly find them for you - there are 12,000 mp3s in there and just about every thing has been through them - musicmatch, wmp, winamp, mp3gain, etc, so there will be plenty tags to find... Smile
