Hello,

Unable to watch or record with GBPVR. When I click on Live TV or TV Guide I get "No Channels have been setup. Please run the configuration utilitity...." etc

I have run the utility and have the logs to prove it.... does anyone have any Idea what could be happening here?

Can you try deleting any files in the C:\Users\John\Documents\ASUS\temp\ directory that starts with "gbepg-", then try again.

Can you have another go at producing the problem, then repost the logs?

Ok, here is exactly the process I have been through....

Start Time 20:30 1/10/07

Start Config utility

Goto Edit recording source

Press empty EPG

Press Update EPG...

Scan each channel for 60 seconds

20:40 update finished.... Click OK to close dialogues

Recording service restarts

20:43 Start GBPVR

Select 'Live TV' Error dialog appears "No Channel have been set up...." etc

I have zipped the logs and config.xml and gbpvr.db3 so I hope you have enough information. reading through the other posts (Although none match my issue) it seems that it is sensative to user permissions. The Recording service was running under SYSTEM so I have tried running it as my user without success Sad

If you're running Vista, then it's probably it's file protection getting in the way. Try deleting c:\users\<user account>\appdata\local\virtualstore\program files\devnz\gbpvr\gbpvr.db3. "appdata" is a hidden directory, but is there if you look closely.

I had the same symptoms. I had to run PVRX2 as Administrator.

Thanks Sub,

Thats the first problem solved. I can see the TV guide now and I can go to watch live TV. UNfortunately all is not well.

If I select a channel to watch live TV (Say BBC 1), I get the sound for a while and then an error saying no signal detected please chech cable. However if I select chanel 4 from the program guide and click watch this is OK.. I can then hit the minus button to go up the channels and find BBC 1 and watch OK..... sometimes it fails from the program guide in the same way

Once I get the signal error the application stops responding...

I'll have a dig around...think Ive seen this one... If I have no luck I'll post the logs tomorrow
