Resolution at the end of thread...

I'm running 1.0.16. I have a Hauppauge PVR150 running on a P4 2.66Ghz machine with 1G of ram. The picture quality of live AND recordings is not very good. Attached are my log files.
The first image is a screen shot from wintv200 on espn2. The second image is a screen shot from pvrx2. As you can see the image quality is drastically different. The affects live tv from gbpvr and the recordings it makes. I can record using the hauppauge sw and the results are pretty good.

I am using the zap2xml plugin for the tv listings and I suppose that gbpvr gets it's channel listings from there. Could it be that the station frequency is off somewhat?

I'm not really good at image editing so the wintv one is really small while the pvrx2 one is kinda big but the screen shot isn't the issue. Wink

thats a bad recording i think your tuner is either set to the wrong country
or your channel frequencies are wrong
run the tunning assitant from the gbpvr drop down menu in start and take notice of the channels it picks up write them down
then go into config and add those numbers to the corresponding channels(edit tuner)

I think this is a tuner driver problem where you send it the channel number for it to tune - and it doesn't get the frequency quite right.

It's no fun, but if you go through and manually switch gbpvr to tune in by frequency vs. channel number you will probably have much better results.

Yep, thats pretty much my thoughts on the problem as well. For whatever reason, the tuner or drivers are failing to correctly lock onto the channel.

In the capture source channel list, you can try entering a frequency in stead of a channel number. For example, 95000000.

That did it. And for what it's worth if anyone else runs into this problem don't bother calling the cable company. Their clueless. I found the info in the registry. It's located around here (I'm not on my mediacenter PC right now): HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\TV System Services\TVAutoTune\.
