Can't get any form of subtitles working

What I'd like to achieve is to record BBC DVB broadcasts including subtitle information and then play back the recordings with a toggle on/off of subtitles. The BBC broadcasts include both DVB and teletext subtitles, and I don't care which I use
I tried to set up GBR to record teletext subtitles to a srt file. I've entered the teletext page numbers (all 888), and set the options Teletext + SRT active but I never get the srt file created. If I go to live tv and hit the yellow button I never get any subtitles either. If I press the teletext button on live TV this works fine, and if I select page 888 I get reliable subtitles but no picture - just a black screen and 2 lines of subtitle text.

On the DVB subtitle front, I understand that this is broken currently, but are subtitles recorded if I select the TS codec? If so could I play them back using something like ffdshow post processing? If they are not currently recorded is there anything that I could do with the GraphRecorder plugin to get them?

As you've already read, DVB Subtitles are broken at the moment. I'm fairly sure you'll find BBC only transmits teletext subtitles on their analog service, not on DVB, which is why you're not getting teletext subtitles.

No it doesnt record them to the transport stream. It recorded them to a separate .dvbsub file.

If they were in the TS, I dont think ffdshow would be able to display them. VLC may be able to though.

No, not that I'm aware of.
