I am trying to get GBPVR working with Windows XP having had it working OK on Win 2000. However, having installed it, when I go to the Channel Mapping window no picture appears in the right hand top corner. it scans and picks up all the available channels at 100 quality. The BDA multiplexer is set to Microsft DVR-MS.

I am using v09.9.12 as I cannot get the later version to work. On installation I receive and error message that PsParser.ax fails to register.

I've tried recording but all I manage to produce is a green screen with the occasional squares of picture. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Ah yes I'd forgotten that. Thanks Maritn. However this still doesn't solve the problem of not having a picture on the Channel Mapping dialog. Anything else I've forgotten? I notice that when I reinstalled v10.0.16 that by default it is showing the Cyberlink Multiplexer. Is this correct?

Also I can apparently make recordings but when I try to play them I just get a black screen although the location bar shows the playback to be advancing. The extension of the file is .dvr-ms and no longer .mpg. Is this correct?

I use the cyberlink Mux but you have to be sure it is really there as you can select it even if it isn't. from the start menu, gbpbr, muxchecker will show what mux's are installed.

What happens if you try to play your recorded files with VLC which has all it's codecs and the like built-in, this should show if the blank screen is during the recording or not.

The only other thing I can think of is that the newer version .16 is more stringent on video capabilities.

Thanks Martin for your help. It was indeed the Cyberlink MUX or at least the lack of it. I had been mislead by reading that WinXP with SP1 had the MUXs installed and hadn't realised that the Mux's show in the Config even though they may not be there. I had the Cyberlink one on disc and just had to register it. I haven't got Live TV working yet but I can live without that and leave it to solve for another day.

Glad to help and hear it's ok now. I think a few people have been caught by assuming the mux's in config are available, I suspect it would be better to only list those installed, but "that's how it is".

The next version on shows muxes that are actually installed. It should cut down on any confusion.
