Newbie needs help

Hello, I purchased a Pinnacle PCTV HD Stick, I read that analog is not supported with GBPVR, All I want to do is record HD channels, I downloaded the program double clicked on it, after that I don't know what to do to get it working, I read the manual, quickstart, I can't figure it out, any help would be appreciated, thanks.

You need to create a capture source, setting the recording source to the BDA recording plugin and select you device. Then enter your EPG details, then hit the 'map digital channels to epg channels' button to scan for channels.

If you dont get that far, then give a detailed message about how far you got, and why you got stuck.

Thanks for your reply, I selected BDA recording plugin and then my device, For EPG I downloaded yapi2xml, put it in the Third party folder, selected the XML file, hit the 'map digital channels to epg channels', after it finished scanning it said no channels found.

Enable log flushing in the config app, then hit ok to apply it, then start the config app and rescan. After this completes, zip and attach the config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log files.

Have you checked the device is working with some other software?

I checked the device with the included software, it did pull in all the available digital channels.

Sorry, I dont know. According to the logs it looks like it correctly goes through the motions but the device fails to lock onto any signal.

Hello again, so I tried again and this time it detects channels when I click on 'map digital channels to epg channels', whats the step after this? I see that it says for each channel in your line up, you must tell gbpvr which digital channel it maps to, how do I do this?

At the end of the scan, click on the 'tuning request' column next to each channel on the left, and select the channel you want to map. Also make sure you have the 'enabled' checkbox ticked for that channel. Thats it.

Thanks a lot, the guide is now working, now I will test recording, if I put the PC on hibernate, will it wake to start recording?

Assuming you've installed the patch from the 'v1.0.16 survival guide' then yes, it should.
