HVR-1800 setup with Dish

I have a HVR-1800 (XP) hooked to a Dish 381 box. I can't seem to setup the tuner card up right to get any video. I have the video coming into the S-video port on the HVR-1800.

Do I use QAM or ASTC? Very confused please help.

Do I use QAM or ASTC?

Neither of these. When you create your capture source, use the Direct Recording Source plugin, then view the settings for that plugin and tick the 'only show devices detected in this machine' checkbox. Set the input source to 'SVideo'.
