I'm trying to figure out some simple streaming solutions for my GBPVR setup. I'd love to access my music especially from anywhere (recordings and photographs are not as important).

EWA is one way to go about it. I flirted with anywhereFM, but I have 10gigs of music and I don't want to worry about syncing...

What do you guys suggest is the best way of listening to my music remotely? My travel laptop is a Mac...

My son installed Ampache for his sister who went to Paris for a year.( https://ampache.bountysource.com/ ) This was on his linux server. He has about 1500 ( 125 GB) albums on it. It works great. It can be installed under Windows, but it's not a very simple install afaict.Wink
But it really works great.

integrating Ampache and GB-PVR is relevant to my interests. Is this something that is even feasible though? Perhaps through a plug in or something like that?

i am not sure about combining it with GB-PVR, but i use Squeezecenter (formally Slimserver) for streaming my entire music collection (30gigs) to anywhere i can get an internet connection. Check it out and i hope it helps you. http://www.slimdevices.com/su_downloads.html

I'd go EWA - only one program to maintain esp. if you are already using GBPVR to store your library...

EWA does everything I need, (and is great show off point in front of friends Big Grin). It's great to be able to not only access my music library and videos, but also schedule recordings (excellent WAF rating when she is about to miss a soap etc)
if you are already using GBPVR to store your library...
what do you mean by this? AFAIK, gbpvr only accesses files on disk and doesn't do anything like storing or putting them in a database with ratings and the like. Nor does it permit you to share your music with multiple computers. This is why I'd like to be able to access Ampache, because it has all my ratings and playlists, and I can access it from my home machine, or from my work machine, or even from my media center, just not through ampache.

I do love me some GB-PVR though, I just finally got everything set up correctly on my mediacenter system, and am looking to maybe set up some xp lite on the machine Big Grin

Well, if you already have GBPVR setup, then why maintain another piece of software, when GBPVR can do most of the common functions through EWA (Stream to remote computers etc)?

Anyone know of how to get the Music Library plugin to work in EWA when your music is store on a networked drive that is not the GBPVR computer. The path in the plugin settings points to the network drive and is correct because I am able to access all of my music through PVRX2 with no issues. The computer sees the network drive and music but EWA sees absolutely nothing.
