MVP and Net Radio v1.0.16

Hi all,

I have been trying to get this to work for a week now :confused:

I've rolled back so many times I've lost count :mad:

I cannot get PVRX2 to run Net Radio on my Local server at all but that is for another thread when I've got this sorted

Clean install of v1.0.16

Default Blue Skin

Net Radio runs fine on the server from my .pls' in favourites or off the web

Running MVP dongle as per v1.0.16

Cannot get a response from any MVP (I run 4) on selecting a station

Can post whole logs but the bit that gets me from MVP-GBPVR is:

Zip and attach the .pls file and I'll take a look. Is it a shoutcast PLS file?

Hi Sub,

not sure about the shoutcast but I am sure I had one of these links working way back with v99.12. Am I using links that are no good for MVP?

These are all streaming Windows Media radio stations. These wont work on the MVP. The MVP can only play .mp3 audio streams, like those delivered by shoutcast web radio stations.

b) Is there any way of transcoding the files to .mp3's before shipping them
over to the MVP?
c) Not using Ubu Radio/Stream as although it was brilliant pre PVRX2 I have
found it difficult to get going with new build

Shoutcast.com is the most common source of these. You do come across some others not on shoutcast.com, but I dont have a definitive list for you.

No, nothing built in.

I seem to remember some users had managed to setup some local proxy software (I think it was something to do with winamp), and had a pls file pointing at the local machine. A forum search should turn up some details.

Sorry, I cant really give you any advice regarding UbuRadio/Stream. I've never used them myself.

Actually I just checked again. the new URL feed for Virgin Radio is

http://mp3-vr-128.smgradio.com/
