Hi sub!

I just installed the new version (no error message) and tried the new EVR Renderer vor PVRX2. This starts on the secondary Monitor. If i try to watch a recording (MPEG-2) the the aspect ratio is shrinked both, left and right side (it's to small), if i press F7 for cycling it's not getting better, it just changes size to quader and something linke this.
Back to VMR9 Custom and all is as it should be.

The used Hardware:
GeForce 8800 GTS 320 and latest BETA Driver ForceWare 169.04

Any idea? For what is EVR exactly?

Its not something we've come across during the pre-release testing. Can you post a screenshot so I can see what you mean?

It is another video renderer option people can try if they have problems getting smooth video playback with VMR9.

It is a new video renderer Microsoft has introduced recently. Some comments from Microsoft about the new EVR renderer:

Quote:- Color-space information is preserved throughout the video pipeline. Users can enjoy video content with full fidelity. Preserving color-space information also reduces unnecessary color-space conversions, which frees more cycles to process demanding HD content.

- The enhanced video renderer (EVR) offers better timing support, enhanced video processing, and improved glitch resilience.

- DirectX Video Acceleration (DXVA) 2.0 offers more efficient video acceleration, compared with DXVA 1.0, with more robust, streamlined video decoding, and extended use of hardware in video processing. With DXVA 2.0, Windows can handle some of the most demanding high-definition content with high quality and improved glitch resilience.

Some of the new H264 hardware decoding video cards like ATI HD 2400/2600, Nvidia 8500/8600 etc only give full acceleration features with EVR, particularly for the h.264/AVC/VC1 decoding. This will probably be of most interest to users who receive high definition H.264 based DVB transmissions. This has pretty much been selected as the high def DVB standard (with the exception of Australia), and trials are underway by BBC, Sweden, New Zealand, France, etc, with real transmissions starting next year (for high def Olympics etc).

...fullscreen.

The resolution of my 2nd display ist 1280 x 720 pixel and the MPEG-2 Recording is normal PAL mit medium Quality (recording).
Instead to have it fullscreen, or at correct 4:3 PA i have this screen like the picture above. The borders are black. Pressing F7 just changes AR, but not really the size of the picture.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. SD has the same narrow/tall problem as ShiningDragon (SD is 4x3 NTSC). I am also on a secondary display (1900x1080).

HD 16x9 looks fine with EVR. Both SD and HD are fine with VMR9 FSE.
