Hi there,

Yesterday, I installed GB-PVR 1.1.5. This is the first time I've used GB-PVR. When I try to watch live TV, GB-PVR reports:

"No Signal Detected. Please ensure that the antenna cable is connected or that the antenna signal is strong enough. Quality: 0%. Strength: 100%".

However, I know for a fact that the signal is fine. I live within a few miles of our local TV transmitter (Crystal Palace, London). Both MediaPortal and Terratec HomeCinema are able to show TV without issues. Even stranger, GB-PVR plays the channels fine whilst it's scanning for channels. GB-PVR finds all the FreeView channels during its scan.

Also, when I go to the TV guide, the guide lists no programs (but the channel names are correct). I have run the "update EPG" from the GB-PVR config menu. MediaPortal was able to grab the EPG from FreeView DVB-T without issue so the EPG is definitely being broadcast.

I have searched the forums and found that a few other people have had similar issues. I've tried several things, all to no avail:

* I've tried upgrading my TV tuner card to the latest, beta drivers
* I've tried various different decoder settings in the GB-PVR config menu
* I've tried changing the <BDADisableStatusChecks> option from "false" to "true" in config.xml
* I've tried re-installing GB-PVR several times.
* I've tried watching TV in MediaPortal first, closing MediaPortal and then watching TV in GB-PVR

My specs:

* WinXP32 SP2 (with NET2.0 and the 2005 Runtime update)
* GB-PVR 1.1.5
* Terratec 2400 dual-tuner PCIe DVB-T card
* Dual-core AMD processor
* 1GB RAM

Any hints would be really helpful!

I'll post some logs in a follow-up post...

Many thanks,
Jack

Attached is my config.xml and my logs. Please do let me know if you require any other details or files!

Thank you so much for making GB-PVR... I think this will be the PVR for me!

don't know if you're having the same issue. i couldn't tune any channel with my twinhan-bda card. see: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=28781.

(from the thread)...
after uninstalling several apps (including sagetv) from my server, I had to re-install gb-pvr. the problem was there again! no signals found during scanning.
setting up the recording source from scratch didn't help, so i re-installed sagetv and voila... scanning is working again.

Hi Turas,

Thanks loads for the reply. Unfortunately, I think we have different issues. I can successfully scan for and find channels in the GB-PVR "config". My problem is that I can't watch any channels from either GB-PVR or PVRX2 and that my EPG is devoid of any programmes!

Thanks,
Jack

Did you ever get this solved? I have exactly the same problem. I've just reinstalled my system and everything looks good except GB-PVR 1.1.5 or 99.12 will not show a TV picture or record it off my Terratec Cinergy DVB card. It works fine with the Hauppauge HVR-1300 DVB tuner. WinTV 6 and the Terratec software (and Nero Home) all work fine.

Sub - can you help? Logs zipped and attached, including the filtercheck log.

Maybe try setting <BDASubmitTuningRequestTwiceOnRecord>true</BDASubmitTuningRequestTwiceOnRecord> in config.xml.

Hi Sub - thanks for the reply.

No effect I'm afraid. Tried it on the "live preview" setting as well and still no joy.

To reiterate dan_aka_jack's original post - this is a freshly installed XPSP2 PC. config.exe finds the Terratec card OK, tunes it fine, matches the channels fine, and the little preview box shows the correct picture when tuning (audio present as well). It's when you go to live TV or recording that the problem occurs - it's blank, the recording creates a mpeg of 0 KB and 1.1.5 says there is 100% stength and 0% quality. I can get the composite input and the DVB-T on the Hauppauge HVR-1300 to work OK and live TV/recording works with them. Other software uses both terratec tuners with no problems.

Could this be a driver problem with the Terratec drivers? I see dan_aka_jack installed the latest drivers, and I slipstreamed them into my XPSP2 installation disk so I'm not sure how to install an earlier version to test.

(BTW I've been away in Africa for several months and came back to find 1.1.5 which I must say looks really good and is a great improvement - congrats and thanks!)

Can you run the FilterCheck.exe in the GB-PVR directory, then zip and attach the Filtercheck.log it creates?

I included them in my first post. I've attached a new set which includes everything I'v done since, including deleting the capture souce and readding it, and the filter log.

Update - I've rolled the drive back as far as I can (to the driver that was working on my previous setup before I nuked it) and it's made no difference.

Can you see if this patch makes any difference?
