I had this all working on one machine which had everything but the kitchen sink added... and moved to a new basic machine (XP- SP2) - I've even downloaded the very latest update just now. I moved because GB-PVR did not seem to like network connections for music, images etc... so moved to machine with all the music etc on it.

The program GB-PVR and PVRX2 work great locally - I can see videos (AVIs in divx), pictures, music etc... but when I try the same with the MVP - I can see pics ok, but attempts to run video force resetting of the MVP - it goes off looking for servers and then comes back to life. If I try movies - off it goes resetting.

What am I missing??

Pete.

Incidentally same movies worked on original setup - so it's not the MVP...

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs.

The MVP can only play .mpg files in hardware, so playback of .avi files requires on the fly transcoding to .mpg during playback which can cause problems, particularly if you dont have a fast machine.

Logs as requested. Wiped logs - program running - tried to run video - send logs.

You are trying to play an avi file. The MVP cant natively play avi files so it attempts to convert it on the fly to a temporary .mpg file. It creates this file in your recording directory, or live tv directory - I cant remember which. You've currently got this directory set to c:\temp, but dont actually have that directory. Either create the directory, or set it to a valid location.

Spot on! It works. Couple of tunes make the hauppauge reset and one movie that's always been a winner stops after a minute - but otherwise that now seems to work. GREAT - thanks.
